World War II Women Spies: Nancy Wake and Marie-Madeleine Fourcade. Learn about two women who guided hundreds of French resistance agents through wartime France. Presentation by Kit Sergeant from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway.
A Night at the Oscars: Academy Awards History. Learn about the history of the Academy Awards from film historian Annette Bochenek in this virtual program from 7 to 8 p.m. hosted by Flossmoor Public Library. Pancake Picnic. Learn about the process of creating syrup out of maple sap from 9 to 11 a.m. at Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center, 20000 Western Ave. The event will include a pancake feast with authentic maple syrup. South Suburban Genealogical & Historical Society. Cynthia Ogorek will discuss her new book, “Hegewisch” at 10 a.m. on the west end of the Martin Kauchak Public Safety Center, 3000 W 170th Place, Hazel Crest. Copies of her books will be available for purchase.
