Homewood trustees approve business incentive for Bookies, tour new fire truck
The Homewood Board of Trustees approved business incentives for Bookies New and Used Books, an independent book store being developed at 2015 Ridge Road. The brief meeting was preceded and followed by tours of the village’s new fire truck, which went into service Tuesday night.
New fire truck goes into service in Homewood
The Homewood Fire Department put a new pumper truck into service on August 28. The Pierce Enforcer arrived on Aug. 21, and firefighters spent about a week training on it before it went into duty Tuesday evening.
Homewood Science Center programs drawing participants from throughout the Chicago area
The participation numbers keep growing at the Homewood Science Center. Executive Director Edie Dobrez told village board members one program drew participants from 25 ZIP Codes. She presented the science center’s 2017 annual report to the board at its meeting Aug. 14.
Homewood’s Wednesday Farmers Market continues

Homewood police offering unpaid ticket amnesty program
A one-time amnesty program for unpaid and overdue parking, red light and local ordinance citations will be offered in Homewood, the police department announced this week.
