Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve is holding its first photo contest to find 12 images for its 2020 calendar showing the preserve during all seasons. Photos taken at the preserve of landscapes, animals, plants and weather are welcome.

Guest performers join Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra for 42nd season
The Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra’s 42nd season will feature performances by special guest musicians. Homewood Heights all stars compete at state
Homewood Heights Little League’s 9-, 10- and 11-year-old All-Star team competed in the state championships in LaSalle, Ill., at the end of July. Homewood trustees to hold special meeting Thursday
The Homewood Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1. The meeting will include an opportunity for public comment followed by a closed session for trustees to discuss actual litigation and purchase or lease of real property.
