KinderCamp. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host the session from noon to 1 p.m. in the meeting room for kids as they prepare to start school. KinderCamp hopes to ease the transition with new topics each time through stories, video, crafts and simple lessons. Register here.

Stage to Screen. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will show “Newsies” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the meeting room.

Sweethearts and Spirits. Learn mixology basics and sip on three festive cocktails from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Irwin Center, 18120 Highland Ave. in Homewood. Enjoy delicious snacks and create your own signature holiday drink. Perfect for beginners and cocktails enthusiasts. For anyone age 21 and up. Movie Music Tribute to Black History. Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., will host in the Helen Wilson Meeting Room a showing from 6:30 to 8 p.m. of a film about how African American writers, musicians and performers have enriched American culture. There will be a brief question-and-answer period after the showing.
