On Saturday, Oct. 18, Homewood will join thousands of communities nationwide to protest the Trump administration’s authoritarian policies and practices, including the immigrant roundup currently under way in the Chicago area.
Action for a Better Tomorrow is sponsoring a peaceful protest from 1 to 3 p.m. at the veterans memorial, 18161 Morris Ave. in Homewood.
Organizers invite everyone to bring signs, chant, chalk, wear costumes, and anything else that helps peacefully resist. Their reminder is this is a family-friendly event, so signs should take that into account.
ABT is a local organization that formed during Donald Trump’s first term as president.
