Homewood police report bomb threats not credible

Homewood police reported Monday morning that daycare facilities in the village have received emailed bomb threats recently.

“Authorities have determined that the threats are not credible at this time,” Police Chief Tom Johnson said.

The investigation into the origin of the email remains ongoing, he said.

“The safety and well-being of children, staff and residents remain our highest priority. The Homewood Police Department is continuing to work closely with the affected daycare facilities and will maintain an increased presence in the area out of an abundance of caution,” Johnson said. “We encourage the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately.”

Additional updates will be provided should any new information become available.
