The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office reported on Sunday the identity of a woman found dead in a Homewood residence on Saturday, June 6.

Biance C. Davis, 51, died from a gunshot wound, according to the report from the ME’s office. Her death was ruled a homicide.

Homewood police reported Saturday that Davis’s body was discovered at 1:43 p.m. when officers responded to a report of an unresponsive woman.

Police said the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident and indicated there was no known danger to the public.

HPD’s Criminal Investigations Unit is conducting the investigation with the assistance of the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force. Police urge anyone who may have information about this incident to contact the Homewood Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit at 708-206-3420.
