Homeland Security serves search warrant in Homewood

U.S. Department of Homeland Security agents served a search warrant at a Homewood residence shortly after 6 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, according to Homewood police.

Homewood officers were on the scene on the 18500 block of Poplar Avenue but stayed on the perimeter and were not involved in the operation, according to Police Chief Denise McGrath.

Two people were taken into custody by DHS as part of its ongoing investigation related to identity theft and fraud. The warrant was not related to immigration violations, police said.
