Employment history: Earlier part of my career was in mortgage/banking. I was a loan officer and enjoyed helping people purchase homes. I am currently self employed as a general contractor. My business is Walker Works LLC.
Previous service: I was a member of the Baythrone Homeowners Association board for 10 years.
Most important issues: Serving would allow me to address various pressing issues to ensure the community’s needs are met. Some important issues would be:
- Budget and Financial Management.
- Ensuring responsible use of taxpayer funds.
- Addressing rising costs of maintenance, programming and staffing.
- Facility maintenance and improvements addressing aging infrastructure and deferred maintenance in parks and facilities.
- Increasing public input on park district decisions and plans.
- Engaging underserved groups to ensure their needs are represented.
- Safety and security, ensuring parks and facilities are safe and well-maintained.
Top goals: My top goals will be listening and hearing the concerns and needs of the community; ensuring activities and programs that support the community continue, while also working with the board for growth and development; aligning strategic plans with community development trends. I also want to strengthen the partnership by collaborating with other agencies ( schools, libraries), advocating for park district interests at all levels of government.
