Election 2025: Meet Patrick Siemsen

Patrick Siemsen’s Homewood bona fides include 26 years with the police department and two decades as a resident. His children and now his grandchildren attended Homewood schools.

He currently serves as police chief in Momence and has worked for a number of communities in the South Suburbs.

He finds his experience working for nine municipalities has given him an appreciation for home.

“Homewood is the brand of excellence,” he said. “My whole life has been in public service, and I want to continue to serve and be part of the team here, and make sure that we continue to have great services for our community.”

If elected, he said he wants to be open and available to hear the concerns of residents.

“We want to communicate with all of them. So we have to utilize many different mediums and platforms to engage these different people,” he said. “The other thing that I’m going to say is to ensure that we’re engaging in multiple languages to hit all our different groups within the community.”

Regarding the issue of parking, Siemsen said the village will need to listen to residents and consider their views as economic development projects move forward.

“We’re getting some good growth here, and I always think you need to balance that growth with the needs of the businesses and the residents. Our residents are number one. What our job is really about is connecting with the residents and communicating their needs and solving those problems.”
