Most important issues: The most important issues are environmental action and policies; an open and inclusive government; support for small, local business, not large corporations; and addressing the traffic and accessible parking issues in downtown Homewood.

Instead of having a government that is reactive to environmental concerns by village residents and community members, we need to create a village that is proactive on environmental issues.

We need a village government that operates with diversity of thought and open, honest debate. We need to do this by including more people in government through town halls and term limits.

We need to support our small, local businesses, not by using economic development as a stick, but by empowering small business owners and the Homewood Business Association.

As Homewood continues to sell off the existing parking in downtown, we need to explore options for sustainably and accessibly expanding parking and safe pedestrian and biking access downtown.

Top goals: My top goal is to make Homewood a paradigm of local environmental action and ordinances. One of the main ways this will be done is through the creation of an Environmental Justice Commission that will evaluate all budgets and ordinances of the village for any environmental issues they may create and to suggest ways to improve the greenspaces and air quality in our community.

Homewood is a beautiful, diverse community, and my plan is for the village government to engage the entire community in mapping out a future for the village. To this end, I want to start having semi-monthly town halls to hear from residents and act on their concerns and ideas, and enact term limits to make room for more residents to become involved in our community government.

I will work with our neighboring administrations, taxing bodies, and community groups to show that we are stronger when working together.
