Most important issues: The work of growing a village is a continuous journey. While there are changing trends, outside pressures, and unfunded mandates, we must remain laser-focused on our primary functions to provide public works, police, and fire services in a way that maximizes your hard-earned tax dollars. With soaring pension expenses, increased insurance costs, and inflation, it is critical that we continue to work hard to bring in new businesses and obtain grants to lessen the impact of these rising expenses. In order to bring in businesses and seek grants, experienced and multi-skilled village staff will continue to be critical to our success. Additionally, there are many important infrastructure projects that need our attention, such as water service upgrades, flood mitigation, and bridge and road repair. Infrastructure repair and safety equipment upgrades rely on funds from grants and economic development.

Top goals: We will continue to promote village events, culture, and people, and strategically partner with organizations that align with our values of inclusion and volunteerism. These efforts demonstrate to prospective businesses (and residents) that Flossmoor is a great place to put down roots.
Additionally, we created an economic development page with trade area data, which is critical information for developers and commercial entities. We have expanded available incentives in order to be competitive with neighboring communities and attract business. We will continue to proactively seek out retailers and developers and work closely with local chambers that provide access to programs for local small businesses. We must retain staff who make it easy to do business in Flossmoor.
We have obtained a record $7 million in grants since 2021 to improve infrastructure and public safety in the village. We will continue to seek grants to improve services and lower your tax burden.
