Homewood police announced Tuesday, July 18, that two men have been arrested and charged for the shooting death of a Homewood man in November 2022.
Nicholas Matthews, 22, of the 15600 block of Madison Avenue, Dolton, was arrested on April 27, and was charged with one count of first degree murder, police said.
Ryan Carter, 22, of the 1000 block of Park Drive, Flossmoor, was arrested on July 14 and was charged with one count of first degree murder.
The shooting apparently occurred early Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022. Police responded just before 1:30 a.m. to a report of shots fired in the 17500 block of Dixmoor Drive on Homewood’s northwest side.
Officers found Darion E. Duncan, 25, in a vehicle. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, police said. Duncan was pronounced dead at 1:47 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Police said at the time that the shooting appeared to be a targeted attack.
