Flossmoor changes location for Oct. 29 community forum (free content)

The Flossmoor Community Forum to discuss how to improve community relations and strengthen the bonds between residents and police officers scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, has been moved to Parker Junior High School, 2810 School St.

Village officials said guests should enter through the building’s main entrance on School Street, Door A, and will be directed by village staff to the event space.

The Village is asking attendees to preregister at www.flossmoor.org. The required preregistration is necessary in order for event facilitators to plan appropriately and gain a better sense of the number of attendees to expect. The registration will also help facilitators organize individuals into small break-out groups where they can share their experiences and ideas with one another.

The forum will be facilitated by Carla Madeleine Kupe, a well-respected attorney and diversity, equity and inclusion consultant. Village officials have been working closely with Kupe and the other facilitators to develop an agenda which gives everyone in attendance an opportunity to air their concerns, ask questions and brainstorm on ways in which the police and community can work more closely together, especially in times of crisis.
