With 99% of precincts counted, Monica Gordon has taken the lead in the race for 5th District Cook County Board of Commissioners.
Flossmoor is in District 5.
Gordon had 7,092 votes, 38.49% of the total, at 9:45 p.m., according to the Cook County Clerk’s election website.
Gordon was followed by Kierra Williams, with 23.49% of the vote, Hazel Crest Mayor Vernard Alsberry with 23.38% and Jaylin McClinton with 14.64%.

In District 6, which includes Homewood, incumbent Donna Miller ran unopposed.
