Arrest made in connection with Mod Pizza stabbing

Homewood police report that a Sauk Village man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred Friday in Homewood.

Martez Price, 26, of the 2200 block of 220th Street, was taken into custody on Sunday, June 26, police said.

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s office has approved three felony charges against Price, including attempted murder, robbery and criminal sexual assault.

The victim is in stable condition and recovering from her wounds, according to police.

Officers responded to Mod Pizza, 17631 S. Halsted St., shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 24, to investigate a reported disturbance. They found a woman who had been stabbed with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The assailant fled on foot.
