Flossmoor police investigate vehicle thefts, burglaries

Flossmoor police are investigating the theft of two vehicles and the break-in to five cars in the Park neighborhood around 3 a.m. Monday, June 20.

Police are analyzing video and reported three Black males gained access to five unlocked vehicles in the 2100 block of Marston Lane, the 2000 block of Cummings Lane, the 800 block of Latimer Lane and the 800 block of Travers Lane. Two of the five vehicles had keys inside and were stolen, police said.

In addition, one car had credit cards inside. Police said they believe the thieves used the cards at area Walmart stores.

Police said one video that is being analyzed shows a man holding what appears to be a firearm while he pulls on door handles of vehicles. Police warn residents to use extreme caution should they encounter one of the thieves.

Flossmoor police are seeking additional video information. Neighbors are asked to report information about the burglaries and thefts to police at the non-emergency number 708-957-4500.

Should you witness a vehicle theft or burglary in progress, police ask you to call 911 immediately. Do not try to intervene in the attempted crime.
