Homewood Fire Department has 3 new captains

The Homewood Fire Department has three new captains in its ranks. Chief Bob Grabowski promoted a trio of lieutenants to the captain. Chris Kieta and Bill Wright were sworn in at the July 11 village board meeting. Tim Cameron was sworn in later that week.

Downtown Homewood redevelopment deal stalls

Progress has come to a halt in a redevelopment project on Ridge Road in downtown Homewood, but village officials and the developer said it is still possible the project might be saved. Third Coast Development of Grand Rapids, Mich., recently withdrew its offer to purchase the property at 2033 Ridge Road.

Homewood modifies liquor license for Redbird Cafe

The Homewood village board approved an ordinance establishing a new type of liquor license for Redbird Cafe.  The Class 7B license allows on-premises consumption of beer and wine only.
