Halsted Street’s food options will make a swap next year, exchanging spicy for sweet. Homewood Mayor Richard Hofeld announced at the Dec. 12 board of trustees meeting that Freddie’s Frozen Custard will be replacing Taco Bell at 17601 Halsted St.

Special recognition for outstanding service to the Village of Homewood was given to outgoing Public Works Department employees Dave Rubarth and Jim Tresouthick who retire on Dec. 31.
School District 153 expects substantial benefit from Homewood home rule
If Homewood voters approve a home rule referendum March 20, it will have a special benefit for Homewood School District 153.
