Miller calls for new county CPR/AED training awareness program

Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller is sponsoring a resolution to develop a countywide CPR/AED training awareness campaign. CPR refers to cardiopulmonary resuscitation, a first aid procedure to help people whose heart has stopped. AED stands for automated external defibrillator, a device that can help restart the heart.

66 H-F seniors named Illinois State Scholars

The Homewood-Flossmoor High School senior class has 66 students selected as 2019 Illinois State Scholars. The Illinois Student Assistance Commission selects these students based on their academic achievements. View this year’s honorees.

District 153 to raise cash via $4.5 million in GO bonds

The Homewood District 153 school board voted Monday to arrange for the sale of $4.5 million in General Obligation bonds in January.
