Newest distillery operating from former Thornton 1857 Brewery
The Well at the Distillery is the South Suburbs’ newest distillery, but it’s not the first time alcohol has been produced in its Thornton location. The business at 400 E. Margaret St. is producing craft gin, vodka, whiskey and rum in the same spot where beer was brewed for a century.

Rehab facility building new location in Homewood

Murder charge in Kerrigan death filed against man, 23, who was caregiver
A Justice man has been charged with first degree murder in the Feb. 20 death of Homewood resident James Kerrigan. The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office Monday approved the felony murder charge against Frederick Walker, 23, who lives in the 8600 block of 81st Street in the southwest suburb.
