Police say Willow Road shooting likely not random

Homewood police have released some details about the shooting that took place on Feb. 20. Deputy Chief Denise McGrath said police believe the shooting, which damaged a home on the 1400 block of Willow Road, was not random. She declined to offer further details on the basis that it could compromise the investigation.

When officers responded to the home around 8:34 p.m., they found damage to a front window that appeared to have been caused by a gunshot impact. Witnesses reported the shots coming from a passing car. McGrath said there is no description of the vehicle or offender.
 
No one was injured in the incident.
 
McGrath said officers recovered more than one bullet shell casing at the scene of the shooting. She declined to comment on the exact number of casings found.
 
The Homewood Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit is conducting a follow-up investigation. It asks anyone who has information related to the incident to contact the Criminal Investigations Unit at 708-206-3420.
