Rehab facility building new location in Homewood
The Shirley Ryan AbilityLab expects to open a new location in Homewood later this year. Construction has already begun at 19260 S. Halsted Street. AbilityLab provides physical rehab for adults and children with complex conditions resulting in loss of function.

Murder charge in Kerrigan death filed against man, 23, who was caregiver
A Justice man has been charged with first degree murder in the Feb. 20 death of Homewood resident James Kerrigan. The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office Monday approved the felony murder charge against Frederick Walker, 23, who lives in the 8600 block of 81st Street in the southwest suburb.
