Tim Martin and Nancy Gildart were officially sworn in May 15 as the newest members of the Homewood Public Library board of trustees. Martin won a six-year term, and Gildart will serve for two years. Current member Tom Nowak was also sworn in. He won a six-year term.

The Homewood village board approved the sale of a property at the intersection of Ridge Road and Martin Avenue in downtown Homewood. The building is commonly known as the Triumph Building. It was purchased by HCF Homewood LLC for $1.

H-F science teacher nominated for national honor
Homewood-Flossmoor High School science teacher Stephen Banasiak has been nominated for the prestigious National Science Foundation’s Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching of Science and Mathematics.
