Officials hope a new TIF district will incentivize redevelopment of the former Bogart’s restaurant at 18225 Dixie Highway in Homewood. Kane, McKenna and Associates, a financial services firm, began helping the village work toward establishing a new TIF district along Dixie Highway and Miller Court in August of 2018.

Viking Choir sings commissioned piece to departing director
The Viking Choir at Homewood-Flossmoor High School gave their beloved choir director Mike Rugen a final send-off on May 23, performing a piece specially written for him. At the end of the program, the students surprised him with “You Will Never Know,” written for his retirement.

Homewood trustees will have an opportunity Tuesday to continue the process of creating a small tax increment financing district (TIF) downtown that is expected aid the redevelopment of the former Bogart’s Charhouse site at 18225 Dixie Highway. Flossmoor musicians set to release jazz recording June 7
