TIF to help Bogart’s redevelopment on Homewood board agenda

Homewood trustees will have an opportunity Tuesday to continue the process of creating a small tax increment financing district (TIF) downtown that is expected aid the redevelopment of the former Bogart's Charhouse site at 18225 Dixie Highway.The restaurant closed in 2012, and the building has been vacant since then. In 2016, Homewood officials began the process of condemnation, but redevelopment stalled because of complicated ownership and delinquent tax issues.The TIF designation is expected to make redevelopment of the property viable.Trustees will consider an ordinance to complete two requirements for establishing the TIF district, convening a joint . . .
