Bob Haderlein thanked for 12 years on H-F park board

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park Board honored outgoing board president Bob Haderlein for his 12 years of service. Newly elected board member Christina Farley Jackson took the oath of office for a six-year term at the May 16 board meeting and will fill Haderlein’s seat.

H-F students examine international issues at Illinois forum

Major current issue being discussed internationally were in the spotlight April 27 when10 students from Homewood-Flossmoor High School joined with more than 100 students from high schools across the state for the Illinois Capitol Forum on America’s Future. This was the 15th year H-F has participated, said teacher Scott Aronson.

H-F assistant principal Fantin resigns

The District 233 school board Tuesday accepted the resignation of Craig Fantin, one of two assistant principals at Homewood-Flossmoor High School. He will serve at H-F through June 30, and then move to his new position as principal at Peotone High School. 

One-Minute Movie Festival open to creative filmmakers

The Homewood Public Library is hosting its second annual One-Minute Movie Festival scheduled for 7 p.m. June 29 at the library, 19717 Dixie Highway.   “Creativity is the key,” said Kelly Campos of the Homewood Library staff. “Last year’s winners proved you can do some interesting presentations in 60 seconds.”[Read More…]
