Dixie Highway Viaduct Project Delay. Homewood Public Works was notified by Iroquois Paving and Illinois Department of Transportation that the start of the planned road closure at the Dixie Highway viaduct has been delayed until Thursday, June 18.

Homewood Traffic Alert. Homewood Public Works announced that pavement marking will be done today on 183rd Street at Riegel Road and at Dixie Highway. During the work, 183rd Street will be reduced to one lane for a few hours while crews complete the project. Motorists should expect minor delays and use caution when traveling through the area.

Ho-Flo Pride Ride. GoodSpeed Cycles will lead a community bike ride from the shop at 2125 W. 183rd St. in Homewood to the Pride Fest at Flossmoor Park. Flags will be flown. Helmets required, but otherwise express yourself and your bike.

Saturday, June 13

Metra Schedule Change. Trains will operate on a Sunday schedule today and Sunday. Trains will originate and terminate at 18th Street, with bus service provided between 18th Street to Millennium Station. ADA passengers with mobility needs must transfer at McCormick Place.

Sunday, June 14

Flossmoor Whistlestopppers Game. Vintage baseball team the Flossmoor Whistlestoppers plays the Chicago Salmon at 2 p.m. at Leavitt Park, 1010, Leavitt Ave., Flossmoor.
