Dixie Highway Viaduct Project. The project to repair the viaduct drainage system and resurface Dixie Highway north of the viaduct is now expected to begin Thursday, June 11. The 90-day closure of the viaduct to traffic will require motorists to take detour routes, one of which will follow 175th Street, Governors Highway and 183rd Street and another will follow Ridge Road to Ashland Avenue and 171st Street.

Flossmoor Legend & Lore: Stories to Preserve for the Next Generation. Kristine Condon will present stories from Flossmoor’s history from 7 to 8 p.m. at Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave. Have you heard the story of the Indianapolis 500 driver who lived in Flossmoor? Or the soap opera star with roots in Flossmoor? Copies of her first book, “Fragments of Flossmoor,” will be available for purchase, with all proceeds benefiting the Veterans’ Wall of Honor project.
