Beyond Borders Reopens. After a vehicle crashed into the front of Beyond Borders Cafe in the early hours of Monday, Jan. 12, the shop had to close for cleanup and repair. On Friday, Jan. 16, owners announced the cafe will reopen at 8 a.m. today.
MLK Day of Service: The Center for Food Equity In Medicine/A More Perfect Place. There will be two free showings of the new Flossmoor history film, “A More Perfect Place: The Story of Flossmoor,” at 3 and 4:30 p.m. in the Homewood Science Center, 18022 Dixie Highway. Move-Along Storytime. Kids age 3 to 8 will enjoy stories, movement and imagination from 11 to 11:30 a.m. in the meeting room at Homewood Public Library.
Drama Group: If Books Could Kill Murder Mystery. Prepare to interview the suspects and vote for your murderer as the Drama Group stages “If Books Could Kill” at 7:30 p.m. at 330 W. 202nd St., Chicago Heights. Tickets are $5 at the door.
Homewood Village Hall Closed. The village hall Saturday hours and Meet the Mayor are canceled for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
