Homewood Disposal Holiday Schedule. Wednesday pick up will be on Thursday. Thursday pick up will be on Friday. Friday pick up will be on Saturday, with the exception of Flossmoor. Flossmoor pick ups will remain on Friday, Sept. 5, because of road closures during the Hidden Gem Half Marathon. Flossmoor residents’ whose collection is normally on Friday should put their trash out on Friday as usual.

District 153 Superintendent Search Survey. From Wednesday, Sept. 3, through Wednesday, Sept. 10, District 153 will post a link for residents to a survey offering residents a chance to give their opinions on what the district needs in its next superintendent. The survey will be available at hsd153.org. The search firm School Exec Connect will offer a summation of the responses to the school board as it works to find a replacement for Superintendent Scott McAlister who retires in 2026.

Aqua Zumba with Gigi. This class is a low-impact, high-energy aquatic exercise at the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club, 2920 W. 183rd St. starting at 9:30 a.m. Fee is $10 for club members, $20 for guests.

Donuts at James Hart School. The Little Red Donut Truck will be in the James Hart School parking lot (off Aberdeen Street) from 3 to 6 p.m. making apple cider flavored mini donuts and apple cider on the spot. A dozen donuts are $9, 2 dozen are $17 and 3 dozen are $23; fresh pressed apple cider is $4. A portion of the sales will go to James Hart School.

Manga Club for Teens. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host a meeting from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the FORT for teens who love manga. Registration is requested but not required.

Chasing Mother Nature. Nick from Storm Science will discuss storm chasing, forecasting severe weather and show videos of storm chasing in a program for adults from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway.
