Homewood village hall will open up with normal business hours on June 3, but there will be guidelines for visitors and employees.
Anyone entering the building will be required to wear a mask. Hand sanitizing stations have been installed throughout the halls and offices.
“Right now, it will be business as usual on June 3,” Homewood Marketing Director Jennifer Quirke said. “We’ll adjust as we see fit.”
The building will be open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday but will be closed on Saturdays for the time being.
Visitors will have to enter through the doors on the west end of the building, near the village board room. Other doors will be used only for leaving. Signs will be posted in the area and directions will be on the village website.
Vehicle stickers will be sold June 3, as well, with a deadline for residents to have them on cars of July 31. Residents can buy them at village hall but also at homesweethomewood.com.
“We’re certainly going to be encouraging folks to purchase their vehicle sticker online, if they’re able, or with the dropbox right outside village hall,” Quirke said.
Most of the state entered phase 3 of Governor J.B. Pritzker’s Restore Illinois plan on Friday. It includes the opening of non-essential businesses with social distancing. Bars and restaurants can be open for delivery, pickup, drive-thru and in some cases outdoor dining service.
