LIONS CLUB POOL MEMBER APPRECIATION DAY — Pass holders are invited to a party from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday at the pool, 1041 Ridge Road in Homewood. Concessions will be open all night. No guests for this event.

BREW & VIEW — Homewood-Flossmoor Park District will host a showing of the movie “A League of Their Own” at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Irwin Park, 18120 Highland Ave. in Homewood. It will be an evening filled with brews, food and fun. The movie will start at dusk. Vendors will include Juancho’s Tacos, Buona Beef Flossmoor, Wiley’s GrillCrab BagzNissa’s Nana Pudding & More, Homewood Ice CreamFlossmoor Station Restaurant & BreweryFunkytown Brewery and Wild Blossom Meadery and Winery.

Southland Jazz Collective. The group will be performing at The Bistro on Sterling, 1040 Sterling Ave. in Flossmoor starting at 5 p.m. Friday.

PROPERTY ASSESSMENT TOWN HALL — Homewood will host a town hall meeting with Cook County Assessor Fritz Kaegi from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday in the village auditorium, 2010 Chestnut Road. There will be an opportunity for residents to ask questions about increases in property value assessments and taxes.

YOUTH SHOWCASE — Local talent will perform from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at The Conservatory, 1042 Sterling Ave. in Flossmoor.

HOMEWOOD FARMERS MARKET — Fresh produce, artisan foods, handcrafted personal care item vendors plus live music will all be available on Martin Square between Ridge Road and Chestnut Road from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

BARB AND DAN’S ROAD RIDE — Weekly bike ride start at 8 a.m. Saturday from GoodSpeed Cycle, 2125 W. 183rd St. in Homewood. There are two groups. One is a no-one-gets-dropped group that follows a 20-mile route. Another group goes on a longer ride. Helmets required. Lights encouraged. Riders of all experience levels are welcome.

OFF-LEASH BIKE RIDE — A nine-mile ride every Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. at GoodSpeed Cycle, 2125 W. 183rd St. in Homewood. The route includes Butterfield Creek bike path, past Rover’s Run and through Izaak Walton Preserve. No registration. Donuts upon return.
