FRAGMENTS OF FLOSSMOOR BOOK CHAT — Kris Condon’s new book, “Fragments of Flossmoor: A Series of Essays on the Interesting, Curious, and Unique in Our Village” will be featured at 3 p.m. Saturday at The Rock Shop, 18109 Dixie Highway. Donations will benefit Veterans’ Wall of Honor project in Flossmoor.

LASER TAG — Flossmoor Public Library is sponsoring this event from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Leavitt Park, 1010 Leavitt Ave. “Enjoy the thrill of turning a familiar landscape into a tactical mission center. Every tree, shrub, and bench take on new life. Is it a safe haven? Or a remote base for enemy operatives? Bring a friend (or enemy) and get ready for battle! All gear will be provided by Game Truck and no experience is necessary.” For kids in 6th through 12th grades. Parents or guardians must sign a waiver the week of the program before allowing participation. Registration is required.

BOOK SALE — Friends of the Homewood Public Library will hold a sidewalk sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the library, 17917 Dixie Highway.

HOMEWOOD FARMERS MARKET — Fresh produce, artisan foods, handcrafted personal care item vendors plus live music will all be available on Martin Square between Ridge Road and Chestnut Road from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

BARB AND DAN’S ROAD RIDE — Weekly bike ride start at 8 a.m. Saturday from GoodSpeed Cycle, 2125 W. 183rd St. in Homewood. There are two groups. One is a no-one-gets-dropped group that follows a 20-mile route. Another group goes on a longer ride. Helmets required. Lights encouraged. Riders of all experience levels are welcome.

OFF-LEASH BIKE RIDE — A nine-mile ride every Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. at GoodSpeed Cycle, 2125 W. 183rd St. in Homewood. The route includes Butterfield Creek bike path, past Rover’s Run and through Izaak Walton Preserve. No registration. Donuts upon return.
