Homewood and company officials cut the ribbon Tuesday, Nov. 6, to mark the official opening of Freddie’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers at 17601 Halsted St. in Homewood. Helping Mayor Richard Hofeld preside over the ceremony, in the beige shirt, is Ben Simon, vice president of operation’s for Freddie’s. He is the son of Freddy’s co-owner Randy Simon and grandson of the company’s namesake, according to Homewood Events Manager Allisa Opyd.
