Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU) announced on Jan. 20 that it is accepting applications for its 2016 Education Scholarships, according to a news release from the company.
Students may apply anytime before April 1. The GLCU Scholarship Committee will select and award individual $1,000 scholarships to six students.
“For the past 15 years, GLCU has raised money annually, in large part through employee fundraising efforts, to award scholarships to members continuing their education,” said Yvonne Bailey, GLCU senior vice president and chief operating officer. “It is always a difficult selection process because of all the quality applications we receive.”
The scholarship program is available to any qualifying member, no matter their age or education level. The funds can be used to help pay tuition, accommodations, books or other expenses at colleges of the recipient’s choice.

GLCU has over 71,000 members and Bannockburn, Illinois, and has 14 branches, including one in Country Club Hills.
