For Golden Apple finalist, it’s all about cooperation, collaboration

The run of Broadway musical “First Date,” under the direction of Homewood-Flossmoor High School theater teacher J.R. Rose, has been extended a second time at the Royal George Cabaret in Chicago. 

“First Date” will now keep audiences laughing through May 17. It’s a riotous, occasionally touching story that almost everyone can relate to.

With book by Austin Winsberg, music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner, a cast of multitalented actors, including Homewood-Flossmoor area native Anne Litchfield Calderone.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 7 and 9:30 p.m. Fridays, 5:30 and 8 p.m., Saturdays and 3 p.m.,Sundays at the Royal George Cabaret, 1641 Halsted St, Tickets are $15 to $50 at www.firstdatechi.com and by calling 312-988-9000.
