Flossmoor Downtown Streetscape Update. Work was slowed last week by storms. D Construction was able to finish the curbs, planters and sidewalks on the west side of Sterling Avenue. The east side parking spaces have been closed for sidewalk removal and replacement. Work has continued on the new sitting wall and sidewalk on the south side of the Flossmoor Public Library. Work is being done on the traffic island edging and on the traffic splitter south of the island. In the coming week, work will continue on the sitting wall, and curbs and sidewalks will be placed on the east side of Sterling Avenue and in the medians. Village officials urge everyone who visits downtown to help keep the project on schedule by respecting the barrels, cones and caution tape around the new concrete.
