Chronicle advertiser news: December 2024

Short turnaround

The December edition will be in the mail this week and already we’re getting started on the January edition that will go to the printer before the holiday. That’s pushed our ad order deadline to Dec. 6.* Anyone who needs to change their order or needs us to design or redesign an ad should let us know by then.

The ad copy deadline is Dec. 13 (earlier is appreciated!). Please send all ad orders and copy to [email protected]. Thanks!

* The first is a Wednesday; we always aim to have the paper in the mail on or before the first of the month but this issue won’t go out until after that, especially with the New Year holiday.

Reminder: New rates beginning January 1, 2025

As we mentioned last month, the Chronicle has not raised advertising rates for five years, and many of our long-time clients are still paying 2017 rates. We don’t like to increase rates but as you all know, it’s necessary to maintain the financial health and sustainability of any business. Postage costs continue to climb, our printing costs are going up significantly and we want to pay our reporters better so we can keep experienced people on the team.

We’re compensating by adding value to our reach. In September we increased our print mailing by 3,000 copies and starting Jan. 1 we’re going to increase our social media presence on LinkedIn, Threads and Bluesky.

To see our new rates, ad specs and deliverables, visit our media kit. Ad copy deadlines for 2025 are available here.

Consider inserts

Do you send direct mailings to Homewood or Flossmoor residents? You might save a little money by placing them as an insert in the Chronicle. We can include your promotional material in our mailing to Homewood, Flossmoor or both villages.

You will need to design and print the material, but we’ll deliver it to our printer for insertion.

Thank you, everyone

We’ve spent the second half of 2024 celebrating the 10th anniversary of our first published story. Since our modest beginning, we’ve grown into a newspaper that covers local government, community events, important issues and interesting people in Homewood and Flossmoor.

In our November print edition, we featured several of our longest, continuously advertising clients. We appreciate every business and organization that advertises with the Chronicle.

You all provide the financial foundation that makes it all possible. Thank you!
