A woman was unharmed when a man robbed her and stole her car at gunpoint Thursday, Oct. 17, on Douglas Avenue, according to Flossmoor police.
Police credited license plate reader cameras with helping locate the stolen vehicle. A suspect in the robbery and theft was taken into custody and a firearm was recovered, police said.
The incident occurred about 1:35 p.m. in the 1000 block of Douglas Avenue. The suspect approached the victim and allegedly took her personal belongings, including her vehicle keys. He then demanded she tell him where her vehicle was parked, police said.
Her vehicle was found in the 5900 block of Rice Street in Chicago.
