WIZARD OF OZ — The H-F High Theatre Program presents “The Wizard of Oz” children’s play in the Performing Arts Center at 2 p.m. Saturday. Tickets at https://gofan.co.

OAKTOBERFEST — The new fall event will continue Flossmoor’s 100th anniversary celebration. In Flossmoor Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be interactive workshops by the Chicago Region Trees Initiative and others focusing on sustainable living practices, organic gardening and native plantings. Kids activities are nature-themed. At the Flossmoor South Commuter Lot from 4 to 9 p.m. is Oaktoberfest Music Festival with DJ on hand, food and beverages available.

ROLLER DERBY — At 8 p.m. Saturday, Chicago Knockouts will host a bout between the Comic Book Crushers and the Punk Rock Punishers at Homewood Auditorium, 2010 Chestnut Road. Click here for details.

STEM SATURDAYS — Homewood Science Center hosts science activities every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 18022 Dixie Highway.

HOMEWOOD FARMERS MARKET — Fresh produce, artisan foods, handcrafted personal care item vendors plus live music will all be available on Martin Square between Ridge Road and Chestnut Road from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

BARB AND DAN’S ROAD RIDE — Weekly bike ride start at 8 a.m. Saturday from GoodSpeed Cycle, 2125 W. 183rd St. in Homewood. There are two groups. One is a no-one-gets-dropped group that follows a 20-mile route. Another group goes on a longer ride. Helmets required. Lights encouraged. Riders of all experience levels are welcome.

OFF-LEASH BIKE RIDE — A nine-mile ride every Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. at GoodSpeed Cycle, 2125 W. 183rd St. in Homewood. The route includes Butterfield Creek bike path, past Rover’s Run and through Izaak Walton Preserve. No registration. Donuts upon return.
