Public welcome to Male Success Initiative program Tuesday at PSC

The Male Success Initiative (MSI) program at Prairie State College will host its annual “Ties That Bind” event on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Atrium on the Main Campus, 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights.

The MSI program focuses on recruiting, enrolling, retaining, and supporting males of color in their educational pursuits through workshops, mentoring and career planning. The public is invited to this free event that aims to support males in the community who are interested in pursuing a college education.

Participants will have the opportunity to sharpen their networking skills and learn how to build professional relationships. Mentors will provide students with career advice, attire tips, interviewing techniques and insights on college success.

“Our goal is to inspire these young men to reach their full potential,” said William Berkley, MSI coordinator. “Through mentorship and guidance, we hope to help increase their confidence and provide them with the tools necessary to be successful.”

Attendees are encouraged to dress in business attire. Light refreshments will be served. Participants and professionals interested in participating in the event can contact Berkley at 708-709-2946 or [email protected].
