Issues:
The library is central to American civic life. It’s one of the few places that is open to everyone. It provides an educational and social outlet for people of all ages. It is also a place where people turn when they need important information.

Recently, public libraries have faced book bans and legislation against certain types of materials and programming. Library boards have faced criticism from citizens who don’t understand that the library needs to serve an entire community and must reflect different viewpoints. I want to ensure that the Flossmoor Public Library reflects the best of Flossmoor. It needs to be welcoming to all members of our Flossmoor community and provide accurate, unbiased information, relevant programming and services, and unjudgmental customer service to everyone who walks through the library doors.

Goals:

  2. Provide fiscal and policy oversight of Flossmoor Public Library.
  3. Advocate for Flossmoor Public Library within our community and to state and federal lawmakers and agencies.
