After 30 years of debate, it looks like – finally – a casino is coming to the South Suburbs. We’ve lived in the South Suburbs since the original casino debate began – and have led the communities of Homewood since 1997, and East Hazel Crest since 1989.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
