Homewood to consider selling land to developers

At their regular board meeting Tuesday, Sept. 12, Homewood trustees will consider selling three parcels of land at the northwest corner of Halsted and 175th streets that would enable redevelopment of the property.Two developers are involved in the purchase. One developer, GMX, plans to build restaurants on the site. Trustees will also consider extending an intergovernmental agreement with the village of East Hazel Crest that would enable the villages to collaborate on the development of a casino on property south of Interstate 80/294 and west of Halsted Street. The development depends on the passage of enabling legislation . . .
