Prairie State College in Chicago Heights has canceled classes this week because of a power outage affecting portions of the campus.
A notice posted on the college website attributed the outage to an electrical fire Saturday, Jan. 28, that affected power in the main building, the Health/Tech Center and Matteson Area Center.
Evening classes in the Matteson Area Center will be held as scheduled, however. CDL classes will meet and the Conference Center and the Workforce Center will operate as scheduled, according to the notice.
The Board meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 31 will be held in the Conference Center Heritage Community Bank Room.
Classes are canceled through Friday, Feb. 3.
