At the Chronicle: Ads spotlight local charities

To help bring attention to local nonprofits, the Chronicle invited community members to buy an ad for a charitable organization for the paper’s December issue.

BrainUp, which funds cancer research and was started by Melody Mart owners Dan and Meg Kresach, was supported by Hoekstra Heating and Air Conditioning and Susan Jenner of Baird & Warner.

The Cancer Support Center received support from Grape & Grain as well as Deborah Okleshen of Baird & Warner.

Coldwell Banker Charitable Foundation was backed by agents at Coldwell Banker Brokerage in Flossmoor.

Respond Now was supported by Flossmoor residents who wished to remain anonymous.

The St. Joseph Church picnic ad was placed by attorney Tom Brabec.

South Suburban Family Shelter received support from Ron Wexler of The Wexler Group with Keller Williams.

“These ads help spread the word about these outstanding community-based organizations that are doing tremendous work in our communities. The generosity of others is allowing these groups to use their funds to carry out their specific mission,” said Public Outreach Manager Patty Houlihan.

“The ads also support the local newspaper.”
