Armed robbers snatch woman’s purse Tuesday afternoon

A woman was uninjured when two thieves took her purse during a daylight armed robbery in a store parking lot on Halsted Street in Homewood on Tuesday.Homewood police said the shopper was returning to her car outside Target, 17605 S. Halsted St., shortly after 1:30 p.m. when she was approached by two men who grabbed her purse. One of the subjects displayed a handgun. The victim ran for help, and the offenders were last seen leaving the area on foot. The Homewood Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating the incident.
