Gloria Namroud, who grew up a couple of blocks north of Wrigley Field, says she was born a Cubs fan.
“Our mom and dad, who are alive and in their 80s,are diehard Cubs fans,” says Gloria, of Homewood. “We are blessed to share this historic moment with them.”
“My brothers and other kids in the neighborhood used to run over to Wrigley when Cubs were in town to catch the balls that went out of the park, and waited for players to come out to get an autograph,” she says.
Over the years, her father and brothers met Ernie Banks and other Cubs players, Gloria says.
“What an astounding moment. This team is amazing! GO CUBS GO!”
