H-F Theater Department presents musical this weekend

This weekend students at Homewood-Flossmoor High School will present “A Year with Frog & Toad,” a whimsical musical that tells the story of two best friends throughout a fun-filled year. The production will be staged at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, and 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, in the Mall Auditorium.

This weekend students at Homewood-Flossmoor High School will present “A Year with Frog & Toad,” a whimsical musical that tells the story of two best friends throughout a fun-filled year.

  Wojcikowski (light blue);
  and Alex Wright (dark blue).

The production will be staged at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, and 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, in the Mall Auditorium on campus. Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for students.

Frog and Toad celebrate and rejoice in their differences during this production with a jazzy score, making it an exuberant theatrical event.

The show is directed by teacher Jill Bonavia-Galligani with student-directors Mia Napue, Brianna Valentine, Leanna Lewis, Amber Jackson and Zoe Bridges.

Cast members are William Knox as Frog and Ethan Runburg as Toad with Chrisian Mayo as Snail; Joy Woods as Turtle/dance captain; Jacob Rodriguez as Lizard; Zoe Branch as Mouse; Kevin Thompson as Young Frog; Jeremiah Lee as Father Frog; Barbara Burns as Mother Frog and Joey Cipriano as Large, Terrible Frog.

 Additional cast members are Sydney DuBose, Grace Bingham, Madeline Moxley, Maggie Sullivan, Harri Wojcikowski and Alex Wright as Birds.

Ava Jones, Laila Malak, John Russell and Olivia Ryan perform as Moles.

Sarah Esparza, Morgan Harvey, Jaira Stanley and Taylor Wicks are on stage as Squirrels.

Leanna Lewis and Nia Napue star as Fish, and Amber Jackson, Noelle Oh and Brianna Valentine perform as Bees.
